MEETING MINUTES
February 3, 2009
There were 23 in attendance. Board members in attendance: Mike Flander, Ken Bottila, Jim Procai, Dave Strobeen, and Doug Lewis.
Meeting was called to order at 7:15pm
Mike talked first.
Things discussed:
GENERAL CLUB DISCUSSION:
-All board members were introduced
-Members introduced themselves and discussed how they got into flying
-No tolerance for complaining (3D Flying is the focus of the field)
-Role of board members
-Voting (i.e., majority rules, consensus rules)
-Membership applications (5 people filled out applications and paid membership dues at meeting: Steven Scott, Alex Scott, Mike Belville, Steve Angell, and Ed Ryan)
-Jake’s graphics, logo design (jackets, hats, logo stickers, etc.)
-Need flyers for Cambridge X-Games
-50/50 raffle
-Show and tell
FIELD:
-Safety and communication between pilots on the runway is top priority
-Expecting what to see at the field (100cc or larger planes and larger scale helicopters)
-Frequency board (how other club may use it)
-Field will be seeded in the Spring
-Field will be ready mid to late summer
-Layout of the field is yet to be determined
-Grand Opening scheduled for 2010
-Hover area for beginners
-Where you can fly: old grass v. new grass
-Camping
-Night flying
-Winter flying
-Larger events
-Parking
-Porta-potties
-Clubs: Rocketry and Gliders Soaring Society (FM frequencies, etc.)
