Well the votes are in and here are the results.

Sessions are divided by grey lines and you can ignore the mini session in the middle. Readings are on the ground with the skids light. My Idle up throttle curve is 100% flat.

Session 1 - Original setup with the same pack we flew with on the 8th so its a fairly accurate reading of what I was flying with. Spooled with soft start in Idle up.

Session 2 - Reprogrammed ESC High/Low with the original 0-60-75-85-100 throttle curve. 2 Spool ups. 1st in normal flight mode 2nd in Idle Up. How bizzarre is it that the rpm did not change between flight modes even tho the throttle values should have been different at that stick position.

Session 3 - Reprogrammed ESC High/Low with 0-50-100 Normal mode throttle curve as Doug suggested then changed it to 0-50-75-85-100. Spooled up in idle up (100& flat) dropped to Normal mode, Switched back to idle up then back to normal before spooling down.

Session 3 had a deffinate increase in head speed and the behavior of the throttle seems normal compared to session 2 however I had discharged and recharged the battery for sessions 2 and 3 so I'm not sure I actually Gained more than 50-100 rpm if that over the first session.

Time for a hammer and a 5s pack I think.

Well I think the packs showing it's age. Here's a recording of the 500 & battery when they were almost new. I had just gotten the data recorder and I discharged it way past where I normally would. I took 2400ish out of the 3300mAh pack. I was checking to see what I should set the timer for. I have not had a chance to accurately gauge the current capacity of the pack. It had not gotten to the point where I thought the values I was putting back into the pack were that far off mark.

You can see the voltage sag is much worse now than it used to be however there have been many changes that could also account for this. I now run 6v with with a stepdown for the gyro servo, changed from a 6100 to a dual reciever 6200 and changed some of the structural items such as the 425D blades which are probably heavier than the original carbon fiber blades.

So I'm unsure once again. However if I was able to hit 2200 at hover and I can only hit 2200 in idle up at 100% on the deck now somethings not quite right.

Looking at it again maybe the sags not that much worse but the head speed used to be alot better I think.

Someone can smack me for not remembering that not having the throttle curve set to 0-25-50-75-100 can effect your selections during esc programming. Not sure if that was the case or not but it could have been in session 2. If mid came out as high it would have been high timing and governor mode.

THink I got my headspeed fixed. Full pack at 0 pitch..... 3160rpm. I think that will do the trick. It still did not sound as nice as Strobes but the blades cutting the air at 0 pitch makes a sweet whistle. Want to buy warm weather.

Idle 2 100%
Idle 1 80%
Normal approx 75%
