Wow Jake!!! I must say you did a great job saving your heli last night. If I hadn't seen you fly earlier in the evening I might have been hiding under the table. Hand clapping together fot you.:)

Details please...
Thanks Steve... woopsy... :D
I decided to flip my Ricco. It took a couple of false starts (mostly to trick Jim), but I flipped it, then flipped it some more. The roll rate was snail slow. When the roll rate is that slow a lot can happen between upright and inverted, which are the two comfort zones. On one flip I got a little orientation surprise, and when combined with the touchy collective, I ended up having to fight it as it flew back towards us, about a foot over our heads. Jim said something like "...Jake...." as I gave him a quick shave and a haircut (you owe me $5). But he stood his ground with me. Everyone did Matrix moves to avoid it as I fought it away from us (similar to my 450 flight at Honeywell, but caused by completely different reasons). It kept bouncing about a foot away from our heads and the ceiling until I could finally push it away and flip it right side up. It felt like it lasted 10x longer than it did. Also I think it's fun how cool a person gets flying in that situation (as opposed to panicky).
Well, that was my dramatic take on it anyway :) Most of it is on video, btw.

Spelling -- should say Hands clapping together FOR you.
Anyway, I was just glad Jim didn't decide to use me as a stopping stick while it was hovering overhead. But it does make for good stories at work on Monday.

An obvious and blatant flight line violation. I'm going to have to fine you Jake.

It was masterfully handled. Was a very impressive recovery.
