3DRC Club Meeting Minutes – 10/7/2009
Thanks to all for attending!
Topics discussed:

The biffy will be clasped shut through the winter. Starting in the spring it will be padlocked, and the combo will be on all 2010 membership cards.

All membership apps from now on will be good for the 2010 season. Please fill out and turn in next years membership apps ASAP! We need to get a good idea of how many members to expect next year. This will help with budgeting and any membership campaigns we might do. It is also time for your AMA renewals if you have not done that yet either…

A first aid kit will be mounted on the frequency board soon. Please REFILL anything you use or take. Also report it to the committee if you do need to use it for some reason.

A permanent fire extinguisher will not be provided by the club. If you are running a GAS engine, you need to provide one for yourself and have it out and visible on the flightline when running/flying per AMA guidelines.

Jackets: Dan is providing jackets for the club this year. The jackets will run $85 and are available in a number of sizes. A portion of the price does go to the club, so the more jackets we sell the more it helps the club!

T-Shirts: Ed is providing t-shirts for the club. The prices will be $16 for a short sleeve and $19 for a long sleeve. Shirts will be available at the pumpkin thrash and will be on the website after that. Again, a portion of this goes to the club!

I know some of you are getting anxious for Indoor flying. We will discuss in more detail at the next meeting. If you are planning on flying indoors, please make it a point to attend the next meeting!

A BIG THANK YOU goes out to all the people that helped with the field this year. The fence is now complete, stools are out, frequency board is mounted, flag pole is anchored, and more! Thank you to each and every one of you for your help! What a great year, can’t wait for next year already!!!

Doug will need to help me out here a little, but there is a fundraiser to aid Ed Ryan’s family. Please get with Doug for any details(please post some Doug!)

We had our first show’n’tell this week!
I brought my new GP Reactor 1.60 with a DLE-55 mounted on the front. Should be a great plane for next year!
Doug brought his brand new Extreme Flight Extra. He is also putting a DLE 55 on it. Doug hadn’t even looked at the plane before he brought it to the meeting, and was kind of enough to let us see it for the first time with him!

We also had our first Raffle this month!
Dan won a Pitts S2-A electric kit that includes esc/motor.
Mark won a $10 King Kong gift certificate
Steve won a set of ball link pliers(which is handy with his new build J ).
Congrats to all the raffle winners!!!

If I missed anything please chime in...
Thanks for the great meeting this month guys. See you next month!!!

Wasn't there a mention of an airplane clinic?

Yes Airplane Clinic Dec. 6th. I will cover whatever you guys want. Proper linkage and radio set-up will be a main focus. But I can help with just about anything else.

Thanks to Mike F., Doug (KK Hobbies) and whomever else donated the items for the raffle. I'm assuming it was Doug and Mike was nice enough to offer the Pitts he won back to the raffle for Dan to win.

Was very nice of you Mike. Not sure the Pitts would stand up to your flying anyways ;)

For any of you that want to get a jacket with the 3DRC logo on the back, just email me at

northcountryexteriors@comcast.net

or feel free to call me at
612-267-6502

Give me the size you would like and tell me who it is for.

Doug has a 2XL tall and Eric has a XL tall if you need to check out a size.

I believe that the club will be placing the group order about the first week in December

Thanks
Dan Anderson

Just wondering if we are not doing meeting minutes anymore? Someone at the field was asking about what goes on at club meetings.

Posting our meeting minutes would be nice for those who are not able to attend. Just my $0.02 worth.:)

Since typing is a pain in the butt maybe we could just do audio recordings of the meetings.

There will be a lot of BS:rolleyes: audio to weed through as a listener. I really think a brief sumary of the meeting posted in a standard spot on our site is best.:)

Audio, pass the mic, I'm not holding no sticken mic, you do it!! I'm not gonna do it! I know, let's get Mikey...:D

Just don't think audio would work well.;)

In the past we've usually had one of the council members leading the meeting and the issues. If the recorder is next to him I think it would pick up the issue at hand and they would just need to reitterate the solution or plan before moving to the next topic.

I wouldn't make it as complicated as passing a mic. I'm also used to listening to meetings so it's not a foreign to me hehe.

I'm all for posted notes if you can tie someone down. :D

We can make sure someone takes notes and posts them. Audio is not cool, I don't need digital evidence of all the stupid s*** I say lol.

Should we start hosting telecons? Netmeeting? Webex?

We don't really need them imho. Forums do a decent job of relaying information. That's just me though.

I would disagree. There is no one spot anyone can go to and find out whats going on, or what is being planned.

Now part of me says, if you want to know what's going on then get to the meetings, but another part says we should also have this info posted for those who just can't make it, or for those like me who forget unless I have a post-it note stuck somewhere.:)
