Not sur how it all works yet but it works as a reciever up to 7 channels using the satalite recievers (which are actually all the reciever hardware in that lil box with 2 antennas) or up to 10 channels using a convensional reciever. As far as the number of connecters.... good question, on the side they don't show in the pics

On the subject of the Amp draw. If you take into account the circumstances required during normal use of your heli required to hit a peak high enough and long enough to cause wire damage. You just crashed, had some real bad binding or were over driving a servo past it's limit for too long anyway. Wire's the least of your worries at that point

It's a servo bus... the little satellites that we attach to our "receivers" are actually receivers. Think of them as AR6100s without the pins in a special case. The main receiver the satellites plug into is yet another receiver with some fault detection. Think of that as a receiver with a built in servo bus.

The Total G and all the others like it are decoding the satellite signals and acting like a main receiver unit (but just the bus, without the built-in receiver), presumably doing some fault detection like a stock main receiver/servo bus.

So plugging a satellite into the total G is essentially the same as plugging a satellite into a 7100R or AR9000, etc...

Of course I am just speaking what I feel is safe, I have no data sheet facts to back me up, yet. But I will keep looking just so my fellow pilots will have the facts to add to their knowlege base. I just got tired of looking right now. I want to work on my heli instead.

I will leave the 10 Amp bus thing alone. It really just depends on the PC board design, which we don't have access to until one of us buys one. Then I could look at it and tell you yes or no, as long as you don't mind me taking it apart to look inside at the copper traces
Search flyinggiants.com for servo connector testing. You will find that it has been tested vigorously.

I was perusing the internet forums and found a post by Curtis describing what I was hoping the Total G would do:

"The other point of the governor is we can use it for triggering the flight control to reduce takeoff issues and landing issues that gyros systems can tend to have."

No more tip-overs on auto!
I can't wait!!!

The Align 3G system does not tip.

Skookum's doesn't tip if you know how to work with the system.

The tipping thing is a non issue. Most peoply tip them because they have the sensor orientation wrong.

I wouldn't worry about it Jake. Everyone's blown this one out of proportion.

Tips on auto's are from people getting more cyclic control than they are used to during the flare portion of the auto. Auto like your still flying and it works fine. People with flybars have to exagerate the cyclic inputs due to reduced headspeed and you don't have to on flybarless.

You sound like you work for Toyota

I can't say I was really worried about it, but from an engineering viewpoint, whether or not it was a problem, it's still solved

Yeah sorta.

I guess I'm just not sure it's really a selling point given the facts. It's neat to know they did it that way. Seems logical and all. More interested in other features related to the governor integration.

In any case thanks for posting. Good find.

I agree with how you stated the "issue". That explanation makes sense. This just feels like technology moving forward.
