Default 2010 Indoor Flying FAQ

Welcome to the 3DRC/ACRC 2010 Indoor flying season! This thread will provide all the info you need on the activites this season.

First and foremost, we have worked very hard to provide the best venue possible for our members to fly in during the cold winter months. While are times and cost are not ideal, this situation can be improved at a minimum by next year if we have the turnout needed to accomodate this. So please, come fly indoors with us!

Where?
The National Sports Center in Blaine, MN. You can find directions and information about the facility here:
www.nscsports.org

Take Hwy 65 to 105th. Go east on 105th. Take a right at the first stop light. Take a left into the the second parking lot(signs says sports hall). Park and head in!

On Saturdays you will simply go to the arena and sign in with the host on duty(Typically either Charlie or Myself). Weekdays will require you to sign in with the receptionist. You must have a club membership card with on weekdays, you will not be admitted otherwise.

When?
Every Saturday. Every other saturday will be 10pm-1am, with the opposite saturday being 7am-9am. The schedule for each month will be posted in a sticky at the top of the indoor flying forum.

We will also provide weekday hours. These hours will change on a weekly basis and will most likely be daytime hours. NSC will send me the weeks schedule at the beginning of the week, and I will post them here. I will post them as soon as I get them, so please be patient.

SATURDAY is the time slot we NEED to fill. Please plan on supporting us at least 1-2 saturdays per month. If you can only make 1 session a week, please make it to the Saturday time slot, and not a weekday one. Weekday slots are an added bonus, but filling the saturday time slots is what will give us the better times and pricing in the future.

How much?
Each session will cost $10 and you MUST be a member of either 3DRC or ACRC. If you are not a member of either club, you may join either, or purchase an Indoor ONLY memberhsip from 3DRC. The cost of this membership is $20.

What can I fly?
Planes will be limited to what you are comfortable flying in the space providing it is safe for spectators and the facility. The host on duty for any given session will have the right to deny anyone the ability to fly if they deem that person to be unsafe to others or his/her surroundings.

Heli's will be limited to 300 class and smaller. Blade CP's, Ricco's, T-Rex 250's and anything else of this class or smaller are welcome. Again, we have the right to refuse anyone if we deem there flying to be a danger to others or the facility.

Other:
Power is provided on site, but we can not promise access every time. To make best use of the time slots, it is recommend to have enough batteries to spend your time flying instead of charging. That being said, you will be able to charge on site.

I would like to apply for my indoor membership so I can fly with you guy’s. I noticed on the application that you want a copy of 2010 AMA card. I renewed but don’t have the card yet. Would you accept a copy of 2009 card for now and I promise to send a copy of the new one when
it comes?

Thanks,
George

Hey George,

The AMA # will be the same and will be verified when your names added to the roster so you should be good to go

Just checking to be absolutely sure, before I roll out of bed at 0-dark-30 tomorrow; according to the initial post (below) there is flying at Blaine from 7-9 am Saturday, 12/12?

Every Saturday. Every other saturday will be 10pm-1am, with the opposite saturday being 7am-9am. The schedule for each month will be posted in a sticky at the top of the indoor flying forum.

Thanks
